Arizona Sunshine 2 Review

You know some people are really interested in action gamings like shooting and I am one of them who loves shooting mechanics games.

When I first played this game, I wondered about exploring the zombie-filled landscape. So, guess what? I come across this dog in the wreckage of a military helicopter crash.

This game has some truly terrifying moments. Hordes of zombies will chase you down – there can be dozens all coming at once. Those parts killed me multiple times before I realized when to use a grenade or Molotov to take some out, or that I just needed to run instead of fighting.

If you want to play this game with your friend  I recommend playing Arizona Sunshine 2 on the PSVR2. you can also play on either PSVR2 or Meta Quest since the game supports cross platforms.

So in this game, you and your buddy (dog) roam in the Arizona deserts taking out Freds and trying to reach the military. We are hoping to find some other survivors in the Arizona desert.

The game is a sequel to Arizona Sunshine, which was a popular post-apocalyptic zombie shooter in VR with co-op for four players. Doing all of this while going through the plot remains the core of the game, and developer Vertigo thrives at it.

When I played this game a second and third time it felt like i rediscovered the things throughout the landscape. In this game, ammo isn’t really something you need to worry about too much. It’s more about feeling powerful. Though there is still plenty of tension and danger to keep things exciting!

But one more thing about this exciting game is that most changes don’t work out that way. It’s usually easier to just ignore them instead of dealing with them.

As the game opens, our dark-humoured protagonist has gone a little crazy due to a lack of companionship, leading up to meeting Buddy. I thought that the protagonist would be too annoying but actually, he is not.

Throughout the game, I found the pieces in the form of metal or alcohol and I think it has been a great game. Rather than talking to himself alone, he is providing clues or context to Buddy through well-acted voiced dialogue.

The exciting part of this game was when you encountered the zombies as I mentioned. At first, this seemed really hard. I thought I was missing something like a special move or button control.

First I had a problem with the mechanic,  I started taking out the undead like an action movie star on Halloween. In this game, 25% is an exploration and puzzle-solving like collecting weapon after weapon.

Weapons And Enemies

Most players like to carry melee weapons as a backup. Clubs and bats are handy for bashing a few enemies over the head before they fall apart. Once they break, it’s time to find a new weapon or switch back to your main guns.

The game even introduced you to new enemies that are not zombies but some other people wear more than headshots. So, the story becomes more interesting as you play the next level of this game.

If I talk about the graphics of the game, it is the best visuals of the game I have ever seen. The game takes place both outside in the beautiful and bright Arizona desert landscapes, as well as inside dark and damp locations as you make your way through the story. There’s a nice mix of different environments.

I appreciate the game developer and how he designed the game’s environment and the actions of the game. This game has really good sound effects, like zombie snarls, gunshots, and explosions. The controllers vibrate at different points too, like when you pet your dog Buddy. It’s weird though, I didn’t feel any vibration in the headset itself.

As I fired off bullets, I counted them to remember when to reload, which fulfills my zombie fantasy in every zombie game.

Buddy ‘The Dog’

The dog named Buddy is your sidekick for the game and he is a well-trained dog that could save your life in this game.

Buddy is really handy in tough situations like attacking zombies to help you out. If he hits them, it can slow the zombies down or even take them out. That way you don’t have to fight them yourself as much.

Buddy is like having your own little helper to deal with any zombies that come your way. Moreover, Buddy can help grab things that are out of reach, like ammo or keys. He can also assist with puzzles by fetching items for you.

You can say that Buddy is aware of the dangers of the game and acts as a narrative throughout the game.

So, you will not be bored while playing this game because Buddy is with you to help you in this game of journey.

What Can Be The Issue?

The biggest issue of this game I have triggered is the loading time of this game. There are long times of loading which sometimes makes you reluctant to play this game.

Occasionally, the game will load to a checkpoint if you die or between chapters, which might drop your co-op partner and break all network functions.

The starting time of the game (18:00), is a one-time issue in playing this game but I have noticed it. Players can take both handguns at the start and then their co-op partner has no gun until they find another later on in the game.

In my opinion, Arizona Sunshine 2 has some technical issues but it is still one of the most amazing games for VR players. Moreover, at some point, you will also experience too many bugs which cause delays in playing.

Final Words Of Arizona Sunshine

My personal experience about this game says the overall performance of this game is absolutely good and you would love it as a VR gamer.

Then, you don’t need to be a fan of zombie movies playing this game. You will already indulge in the zombie landscape once you have started the game.

Imagine you are a first person shooter in the game hide yourself in a scorching heat with some enemies. Arizona sunshine can bring you to the next level of excitement of the game.

Smooth controls and captivating graphics of the game add extra charm to make it more enjoyable for players.

On the other hand, The levels in the game end up feeling less exciting even though the gameplay is fun. Since it wants to be more of an adventure than a shooting gallery, there aren’t really any super intense or memorable moments without higher stakes.

Despite some technical issues the game stands out for its design and developer approach what makes this game enjoyable.

In this game, the most loveable character to me is the ‘Buddy’ which is a dog who assists and helps me throughout the game journey.

If you play this game on the Meta Quest you will experience the great performance and fun of the game.
